Get to Know
Chris Sheridan, Founder
Involved since day one - October 1st, 1997.
sheridan started the House of Kin when he witnessed people sleeping in their car at the hospital and wanted to give them a safe and suitable place to stay. Sheridan says that his greatest joy with the House of Kin was when his proposal to purchase the building, formerly known as the 'Grand Prix Inn', now The House of Kin, was accepted. Sheridan says 'it is very gratifying to help people in need by offering our home as their home'.

5 years from now, Chris hopes to achieve continued service for our guests. This means continuity of providing special medical rates met with caring and compassionate staff. 'Without the staff that is dedicated and loyal, it would not survive'.

Sheridan has always had a heart for helping the community. His background is Civil Engineering, and his passion is non-profit organizations. Chris says his role model was his father, Dr. Fred W. Sheridan, who was very involved with the community in the educational field. This started with Sheridan Tech School (now Sudbury Secondary School), the F.W. Sheridan Auditorium, and was instrumental in the development of Cambrian College. Similarly to his father, but in his own unique way, Chris has been very deeply involved in the community. Some of his involvements include but are certainly not limited to UCT, Legion Branch 76, Memorial Hospital Foundation, Kinsmen Club of Sudbury, Sport Celebrity Dinner.. and much much more.

Fun fact! Chris' passion is Sport Hall of Fame - he is hoping it will become a reality someday!
